The last 2 weeks!

The last weekend in January we headed down to our 'winter home' aka our Newburgh home!
The main reason was our little girl wanted to have her birthday party with her friends
and that is exactly what we planned and did. She had a great party that was held at chik-fil-a.
Seriously the best way to host a party...they provide the ice cream and the cow comes out to visit and the kids get to play! Thank you to all those that came and graciously gave her presents (she loves them all)

Unfortunately, J came down with a fever the night before and wasn't able to attend the party. Daddy and J stayed at the Newburgh house and packed.

As a side note: we got an offer on our Newburgh home and since we were there we packed up the rest of that house.

When we returned, we got hit with an ice and snow storm that kept us home for a week...Tom was even home for 2 days and Church was canceled. What did we do for the week: Played on the ice, went sledding, and unpacked a lot of boxes (One of vehicles finally has a spot in the garage)

While we unpacked the kids played and played with their toys....the baby discovered a new toy which is crawling in and out of one of the toy bins, crawling up the stairs, waving to everyone, looking out the window and finding anything and everything to put in his mouth.

Notice the teeth (yeah he has 4 teeth now!) Our baby boy is growing up way too fast.....someone tells us how to slow it down.

Novelty

We all have been enjoying this new novelty in our home....the front loader washer and dryer. I love how quiet they are, Tom loves that he didn't have to move them. Oh, and K loves to watch the clothes go around and around. She will sit they for quite a while watching it.(BTW in case you were wondering: why yes she picked out and dressed heself in that lovely attire)

New year = New home

We closed on our new home this past week....yes we now have a real estate portfolio which consists of 2 house...yikes!

Before we get to the new house a few things happened first...

First, saying goodbye to a great teacher for our little man...she was so wonderful and was so understanding of this crazy year we had. Plus, he learned so much and fun .

We had to pack up our home but still leave some items so it would be staged for a future buyer to look at....what to take, what to leave behind for later....yeah a little nuts!

We celebrated Christmas.....

(Baby's first Christmas...first time sitting on Santa's lap)

(Making a Gingerbread house)

(Christmas eve matching pajamas)

(Christmas Day)

My Mom even flew out to spend the holidays with us. It was so wonderful to have here with us.

We came up to Indy: Tom started working, we couldn't close on our new house for a week, spent a week in a hotel, kids got sick-a little stomach bug never hurt anyone right? We registered J in his new school, had fun exploring at the children's museum and went to the movies and saw Tangled. A little crazy but fun non the less!

(baby's first time at the Movies)
(first day at new school! He's one of 5 boys, their is a lot of girls in his class)

And now we are in our new house and have a lot of unpacking to do....

Oh and we got 5 inches of snow the day after we closed on our house and school wasn't canceled or delayed....yeah a little bit different from where we just came from.

Who doesn't like Carmel!!!

Indy isn't anywhere near where we thought we'd end up moving next, but after visiting a few times and researching the area we're super excited about starting this new phase in a new place.

Since we are officially moving to Carmel, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis and one of the best places to live in the country according to CNN, I thought I would compile a top 10 list of reasons to come visit us.

10. Largest Children's Museum in the World!!!
Bucket list item for anyone with kids, young or old

9. Indianapolis Museum of Art
Kept our kids in utter awe and silence for 3 hours

8. Monon Trail
Trail access from our sub-division

7. Monon Center
Outdoor water park, indoor water park, fitness center. A short walk from our front door.

6. Carmel Arts and Design District
Only if you like shopping, fine dining and a quaint home town main street.

5. Indianapolis Zoo
Hey, it's a Zoo. Seen one, seen'm all.

4. Indianapolis Colts!!!
Go #17 (get well soon) and #43!!!

3. Indianapolis 500 and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Because you just gotta say you've been there.

2. Downtown Indianapolis
Really, it's awe inspiring.

1. We've got a cozy house with room for guests!

So you see, really the only question you should be asking yourselves is, "When will we be traveling out to Indianapolis to visit?"
