Gila Valley AZ Temple Announcement

In a joint annoucement with the Gilbert Arizona Temple, President Thomas S. Monson has announced the construction of a temple in Arizona's Gila Valley which is located in the adjoining communities of Thatcher and Safford. (This is the first temple to be built in the mission Tom served in!)

Favorite books for little ones

I love to read. It seems like I have always loved to read. I guess you could says, its one of those guilty pleasures! So its not too surpising that my kids love to be read too. They will bring books to me all thoughout the day wanting me to read them, they absolutely love going to the library to check out even more books! The other day I was talking to a good friend about how our boys love to read so this is a list of only a few of our favorite children books that we love at our household :)

What is/was your favorite childhood book?

70 degree weather has arrived

We have been having the best weather this past week 60s and 70 degreees and the humidity hasn't set in yet! The kids love being outside ride bikes, kicking the ball, playing in the sandbox and of course playing on our swingset. Another milestone was accomplished this week by our little princess, she learned how to go up the ladder on the swingset, all by herself :)

Renee and I were awaken by the house shaking this morning at about 4:30. She of course thought it was a tornado, I thought maybe a punk kid driving by with only his sub woffer on. It lasted for about a minute, and wasn't any fun at all. The kids slept through it. So far no damage has been reported in the community, and nothing fell off the walls here at the house. The power has stayed on and it would seem most of our neighbors slept through it.

Good thing the earthquake was at night, or something like this could have happened.

Thunder over Louisville pictures

Thunder over Louisville

A couple of days ago, good friends, The Sims, invited us to go with them to Thunder over Louisville. Yesturday was the big day-so we packed up the kids and the car (its amazing all the things you need to take with you just for a day trip!) After a few stops we arrived just in time to enjoy a nice sack lunch. We got to enjoy an air show where over 45 different aircrafts flew over our heads within about 6 hours! However, most of that time we spent playing with the kids inside a sales office conference room, for the weather was cold and windy. Then along with a millon other people, we lined the banks of the Ohio River too see the largest annual pyrotechnics display in North America-in other words THE FIREWORKS! Eight 400 foot barges launch the fireworks along with even more fireworks being launched from the bridge that connects Jeffersonville, IN and Louisville, KY. The fireworks lasted 30 minutes - it has all the sights and sounds you could ask for, which included music playing and eye-popping sights, you could feel the fireworks pounding in your heart not to mention the ground vibrating under your feet. We had a wonderful time-and to the Sims, thanks for inviting us!

family visit

My sister and her youngest daughter came out to visit us this past week. We went shopping, went to lunch, went down by the river, went to the library, played at the park and of course we went to the zoo!

I made this blanket for my niece while she was here - It took longer then it should but it turned out adorable!

And yes he picked the fabrics, sat next to me while making it, he couldn't wait to put it on and still loves it 2 weeks later!
